The Best Small Town July 4 Celebrations!

Crouch:  The village of Crouch is located along the middle fork of the Payette River and on the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway.   Population 170.  Celebrate Independence Day with activities downtown all day on July 4.

Hailey:  Located in the Wood River Valley along the Sawtooth Scenic Byway.  Population:  7,960.  Fourth of July activities fill the day with fireworks at dusk.

McCall:  Nestled on the south bank of Payette Lake along the Payette River Scenic Byway.  Population: 2,924.  The town’s Fourth of July celebrations run through July 7!

Paris:   Located on the western side of Bear Lake Valley, along the Oregon Trail-Bear Lake Scenic Byway.  Population 513.  Enjoy a chuckwagon breakfast, parade, youth rodeo and plenty of family friendly activities.

Sandpoint:  Lies on the shores of Idaho’s largest lake, 43-mile-long Lake Pend Oreille, and intersects three scenic byways:  Wild Horse Trail, Lake Coeur d’Alene and Pend Oreille.   In 2011 Sandpoint was named the nation’s “Most Beautiful Small Town” by Rand McNally and USA Today.  Population 7,365.  See downtown parades in the morning, followed by afternoon stage performances at City Beach and fireworks over Lake Pend Oreille at dusk.

Stanley: The town is surrounded by the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and interconnects three scenic byways —
the Ponderosa Pine, Sawtooth and Salmon River byways.  Population 63. Watch the kids parade, fireworks and celebrate with an after-fireworks street dance.
