Heli-Skiing Lets You Fly-in, Ski-Out.

Helicopter skiing in the United States was born in Sun Valley, Idaho in 1966. Helicopters take skiers to the top of untouched Rocky Mountain peaks. The ride down is like no other.

They will guide you through the best, lightest and most amazing snow on earth

Sun Valley Heli Ski was the original Heli Ski company and still operates as part of Epiquest in Sun Valley. The company has an outstanding record of safety, terrain quality, and more than 100 years of collective experience among their guide team. SVHS’s staff includes characters like Zach Crist, a one-time US Ski Team member, X Games medal winner, and adventure documentary producer. Mark Baumgardner and his dog, Otto, are avalanche search and rescue experts; Mark also owns and operates the Smoky Mountain Lodge, the only fly-in heli-ski lodge in the lower 48 states.

The Sun Valley Heli Skiing adventure lets participants ski terrain in the Smokey, Boulder and Pioneer Mountain ranges – elite terrain that few others get to experience. SVHS prefers that groups stay small too, so that participants can have unique, personal experiences with the guides.

Local lodges include Sun Valley Lodge, Thunder Spring, Kentwood Lodge, and Smoky Mountain Lodge. The Hemingways is a private residence club in Sun Valley.
